IAAR supports people who are motivated to follow the PRH education, but who do not have the means to do so because they live in countries under difficult economic circumstances. They often do not find work or are underpaid. The financial support they receive through our various projects also benefits the educators, who are then better paid for their work.

An important part of the financial contribution from IAAR also goes to the further training of candidate colleagues and colleagues who still have little experience, especially in certain countries of Africa and Asia.

IAAR then pays the actual travel costs of the educators who provide the training, sometimes the accommodation costs (also of the local group), but not the salaries.

This support and guidance have resulted in a new dynamic over the last seven years in places where the PRH teams previously led a dormant existence. The number of educators is growing and volunteers are joining to support them. The teams assume a clear position and are given a legal structure. They attract a larger and younger audience and there is movement and enthusiasm among the participants in the training. New candidates feel inspired to in turn pass on the PRH education and become an educator. IAAR makes it financially possible for these people to follow professional training.

Some examples from Asia

PRH Thailand

In Indonesia, 6 educators have been added and 10 people, mainly young adults, are starting the training to become individual counsellors, a few of whom will continue with the professional training.

In Thailand there are two new educators who in turn are preparing 10 candidates to become individual counsellors.

In Malaysia, for one year already, there is a new educator, Annie, whose testimony can be read in the previous Newsflash. Also, in Singapore, a young couple in training dreams of becoming educators.

Examples from Africa

Four new educators in Congo and three candidates following professional training.

There are three new educators in Tanzania and a group of 7 people are now starting the training as individual counsellors over there.

The same dynamic is also happening in other countries…

We are always amazed at the enthusiasm that the PRH education awakens in people. In all these countries we feel a deep aspiration among the participants to give new opportunities to people through PRH. Our training is experienced as a positive force that gives new perspective even in extremely difficult circumstances. PRH’s view of humanity and our pedagogical approach taps into deep values, awakens realistic hope and the necessary resilience to move towards a fuller personal and relational life.

Many colleagues and volunteers from IAAR contribute to this dynamic.

These courses involve a lot of guidance, supervision, professional education, etc.

None of this is possible without cooperation.

It is an honour for us to help make this dynamic possible.
