How it started for me

It all started with a question, a request to meet online with a person in training in an Asian country. I do not remember anymore what has been said, the content of that conversation but what I still remember is the sentence that came in me ‘I want them to become true PRH professionals’. It was a strange sentence that didn’t go away.  I was surprised, I tried to forget it but that sentence felt as a calling in me, something I had to do. I had to be available for them with my capacities and my experience in the formation team of PRH-Flanders.

My work

It is very interesting work I do for Asia (Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore) and recently also for some countries in Africa. I work online. What I do depends of what they need in a certain country… personal training, personal accompaniment, pedagogical accompaniment for instance  prepare them to facilitate their first session, how to work with a group, how to evaluate your work, how to make progress, how to manage difficulties, … Also supervision is part of it … in fact all they need to become true PRH-professionals.

How is it to work with them?

I will tell you what touches me. What touches me deeply is how seriously they take training, how hard they work and how they are filled with a true love for their people, their country, humanity. It is wonderful that I can meet in them the pure calling they feel to contribute to the development of individuals, groups or communities. They want people to rise up in their dignity, in their capacities … mothers, fathers, workers, team leaders, doctors, … There is so much to do and they know it. And they make a lot of efforts in circumstances that are usually not easy … difficult economic situations, problems with facilities, no electricity at times when you need it, no internet connection, …

What is succeeding?

It is quite amazing how persistence helps. My future colleagues are brave, they go on witnessing through their own lives what is possible for people when they work on themselves. They show what the impact can be on relationships, in families, in the workplace. They awaken hope in people and show them the way to realize it.
